The Philip A. Connelly Award for Excellence in Army Food Service
was established in March 1968 to recognize excellence in Army food service.
The goal of the Connelly Awards Program is to help instill in
Army food service workers a sense of prestige and dignity.
Evaluators look closely at
* Training and Management
* Dining facility administration
* Head counting/cashier procedures
* Food receipt and storage
* Sanitation and nutrition
* Serving and soldiers acceptability
* Equipment and facilities
* Food preparation and quality
* Warm and pleasant atmosphere
In short, the Connelly Award is about pleasing soldiers. It is
about being the best of the best. It is about Integrity, Service, and Excellence
- the core values of North Carolina Food Services.
For the first time in the 42 year history of the Connelly Award,
a single contractor won both the large and small category for the same
installation. Our winning effort, our winning team at Fort Bragg has
demonstrated we have the "right stuff" and we are the best of the best.
